plant arrangement and environment

I just put my plants in randomly - grabbing them from the pan I was spouting them in and filling the garden one "tree" at a time.  Today I am looking at my garden and by count I have two new sprouts, but I am not sure which ones without digging into it.  Apparently I need to pay attention to the lighting needs of my plants. I had not considered  the termperature and humidity needs . (A fish tank is suddenly feeling simpler.) Movement 11/29 Round 1:  minimum only (2 arugula and cilantro) to top row;  maximum only (cherry tomatoes, jalapenos, and sweet peppers) to middle. The first gardyn box showed up Wednesday with most of the system. The lights (and cameras) got delayed until Friday and then Saturday. Not being the most patient person, I started with what I could. I opened the box, read the literature, and got about half way thru the assembly. There were QR codes pointing to very similar information on the web with videos. Additionally I could the poke around other documentation.  On top of that  I was reading a facebook group. The message I got was that starting seedlings should be done free of fertilizer. Saturday evening I have the whole thing assembled linked to my phone app by wifi. Sunday I get an email from Kelby the assistant tellling me that the cardboard was for shipping and should have been removed.  I noticed that about 1/3 of them have sprouted (2 green mustar...

One of the things I miss about CA, is being able to go into the yard at any time of year for herbs, vegetables, and fruit. Additionally WW recommends 5-7 big servings of fruits/vegetables per day.  I considered previous experiences with by the square foot, window sill gardens, CSAs, delivery services, ... and am trying a hydroponics system. After reading up on CNET, I decided upon Gardyn's vertical 30 plant system. The first deliberation was where to put it. Wall space in a fairly open design is at a premium. Possible liquid spillage ruled out rooms had led to a preferrence for tile and an avoidance of rugs. ...   I thought I had it figured. Then I figured out the lights made it wider than its footprint. When I started to connect to the app, I realized wifi signal strength was not something I thought about. Now at 50% the light is really bright. While it might be good for SAD, there is another move in the near future. It may wait until before I put water in again. ...
