additional water capacity

Gardyn recommends keeping the system topped off for balance of water with nutrients and to protect the pump. The tank is 6 gallons. When I am home when Kelby says 60 or 70%, I add two gallons of water and a spoon of buffered nutrients. Last week I became concerned when I was down at 30% (after about 5 days, and getting notifactions) and my car broke down on the way home.  How much of a difference does vacation mode make? Better to sacrifice the plants than burn out the motor. Does using the app to manually turn off the system actually work? (It is a toggle in settings rather than the obvious controls) A user in the official user group (private), mentioned a remotely controllable pump for topping off the system: letpot ISE  (note must twiddle to get US power) ( manual ) What did he say the flow rate was?  430ml/min?

Should I put it into vacation mode? I've also killed some seedlings because they dried out. Will using a lid help? Bolting happened before, but is it happening more now? Is it because the house is warmer during the AC season than during heating season? Is it bec...
