It's July - Happy Indepedence Day - fight for your rights

So I am about a month into being away from the Gardyn  more than being home. Most weeks I have had some reason to come home in addition to adding water and fertilizer to the system. I am not quite sure how many days the system can go.  I am on my second trip home this week.   I've only been gone 2 nights and am I already down to 40%. (The notifications start coming in at 30%. Not sure when the pump suffers. Plant care suggestion is to keep it topped off.)  Been paying attention to secondary tank solutions: From fancy wifi connected motors to syphons. Feel like I should be around to supervise early runs.

Recently NEW: Putting a lid on the seedlings helps keep the moisture in.  The Italian Parsely spouted and needs a taller container. Does the buttercrunch lettuce have real leaves? not yet. Have thinned 8 into other cubes so far.

My basil still is trying to put out flowers. Had some with mozerella and tomatoes. Caprese salad? The basil outside survived, but is not lush. (Somebody has been chomping on the rio diplademia . Got daisies and yellow gladiolus.) If that was what I was trying to root, it had roots but the leaves had died and the water was no longer clean. Probably was. This one is just getting too big.  I promised a shore neighbor mints to root. (How else do I sucker someone else into watering it and letting me use it?) Apparently her basil keeps dieing this year. I am not eating the basil or the spearmint fast enough.

When I am here all the time I just harvest and eat. I think there is something said for freshness. I expect to have a lot today. NEW: I have started bowls for lettuce and a hardy greens today. 3 romaine plants have crooked stems but are producing none the less. This tatsoi has longer stems. Lack of light? left to long? Nom, Nom. The other three heads will perhaps be picked for lunch tomorrow. One is getting tall but has no flowers yet. I think I had mustard before I left and one of the roots was holding on up and down. The amaranth floweres have not turned brown yet, but I accidentally broke a branch off taking it out. Removed the bigger leaves. It has gotten so big, it is on the top, so not got getting much light. It has started more flowers

flashy lettuce and lemon balm are starting to show traits.

The system is not cleaning up as early as it used to: white - mold, green - algea, brown - fertilizer. Is it because I skipped the 6 month deep clean. I am intimidated by taking the whole thing apart. Then there are tales of tubes breaking and such. I just took .  Just took a collar off the swiss chard. It was also new rockwool. Still procrastinating.
