What's in a name? How is Paffy's Pipedream doing?

Had a request for names on Facebook and chose Paffy's Pipedream for my first Gardyn.  Part of the reason I chose this, is the variety of stuff I knew I wanted to grow.  Now I am being tempted by all the options  (flowers?!!!) and I expect multiples of the frequent salad bits to need rotating duplicates. No wonder some people get multiple units.  I am just one person - let's at least get a harvest under the belt. See how I feel about it next fall (after a summer of being home little). What naming the individual plants? yipes.

So Monday I thinned my plants and added fertilizer. Wondering if I should have done a mini clean then as the monthly timer counts down. However it seemed quite clean. I am thinking maybe a month from adding fertilizer. Clearly when I add water will be a good time to reconsider. The Gardyn documentation does not address PH - rather assuming the montly change will keep everything in balance. Probably should have stuck with strip testing. Bought an inexpensive tester. It needs calibrating. For that it needs distilled water. ...

A bit over three weeks and I am wondering when things will be big enough to eat and will I like them. Some things can start havesting at 2-3", others at 3=4", Don't take more than a third of the plant if you want to keep it growing. They are definitely growing! Can't tell it from the pictures but the sweet pepper and jalapeno have growth above the cotyledons.

So you may notice the shoddy quality of my little cube shades to try to prevent algae.  The fan tends to dislodge mine. (This item from my RPI days, has a head that wants to droop.) I am not enthused to pay another $75 for such (and $69 for a nursery).  Another user showed using shelf "paper"  (plastic) on fb. in theory they are not necessary once the plants are big enough to throw shade. Alternatively get the item available for a different system.

Walked outside. I have green Italian parsley! nibbled. I also found a dry chive flowerhead. Put some of the seeds in a glass of water over night. Put some on the unsprouted tatsoi cube. Ooops. I had put an Italian Parsley in water too,

Presentation? I find the pictures easier to look at and compare. Never got the video to load in the blog and I had to hunt to treat a video like a picture in facebook. It wanted to do reel....?
